Applied Clinical Science for Complex, Persistent Health Conditions
Regulated Systems is a physiotherapy-led clinical practice for people with complex, persistent symptoms.
When symptoms persist despite appropriate investigation and genuine effort, a different approach is required.
I look at how different systems in your body are working together - and what may be contributing to your symptoms - then build a clear, structured plan to help restore stability and capacity.
You don’t need to have everything figured out before you start.
Persistent Symptoms.
Common Underlying Patterns.
Is this you?
You may be in the right place if:
You have ongoing symptoms despite treatment or normal test results
You’ve seen multiple practitioners but still feel stuck
Your body feels “out of sync” or not functioning at its best
You’re unsure how to move forward or make meaningful progress.
Many clients present with:
Hypermobility and EDS (Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome)
POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome)
ME (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis) | CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome)
MCAS (Mast Cell Activation Syndrome)
Persistent pain (migraine, tension, unresolved injury)
Post-concussion symptoms (headaches, dizziness, brain fog)
Digestive issues (Functional gastrointestinal disorders)
Jaw Pain (Temporo-Mandibular Joint (TMJ) Dysfunction)
Fibromyalgia
Sleep disturbance.
Many of these conditions overlap and coexist. The key is understanding the underlying patterns contributing to your symptoms.
This is where the work begins.
Capacity Before Optimisation
When the body has adapted to ongoing stress or load, pushing harder rarely works.
Capacity needs to be rebuilt - in the right order.
Safety first - reducing physiological reactivity and overload.
Stability second - restoring consistent, regulated function.
Performance later - building toward meaningful activity, function, and personal goals.
Structured, Contained, Goal-Directed
How I work
Work begins with a clear clinical assessment and identifying the most appropriate starting point for you.
This helps us understand what your system needs most right now, and where to begin.
Your care typically includes:
Pre-session review of your medical history and previous investigations
A detailed whole-body assessment (including your structural issues, nervous system, movement, and current capacity)
Clear reporting and, where appropriate, collaboration with your other clinicians
Structured regulation and rehabilitation tailored to your current capacity
Hands-on treatment where clinically indicated.
You’ll leave with a clearer understanding of what may be contributing to your symptoms, and a structured plan you can begin to implement.
Intervention is:
Targeted
Time-bound
Based on how your body is currently functioning
Designed to build independence
This is rehabilitation of the human system - structured and integrated.
If you’re unsure whether this approach is right for you, you’re welcome to get in touch.
You don’t need to have the right words - clarity often comes through conversation.
